Welcome to the TCRSB Literacy Resource Website

This site is currently being developed as a resource of effective practices in literacy, for students, parents, and teachers

 Literacy Connections provides a wealth of information on reading, teaching and tutoring techniques.
 The SSRSB has developed a site to assist educators by providing ideas for literacy and technology instruction.
 "CanTeach" was created by two Canadian educators and contains ideas, lesson plans, and links to many other sites and resources.
 The NS Department of Education maintains this site for various literacy initiatives.
 ReadWriteThink provides educators and parents with access to high quality practices in literacy instruction and ideas.
 Internet4Classrooms is designed to assist with finding high quality, free internet resources to use in classroom instruction.
 Curled Up With a Good Book provides reviews and news about books, and information about authors.
 Reading Matters hosts reviews of books aimed at young, and young adult readers, and invites reader contributions.
 This site administered by the folks at The Discovery Channel offers free lesson plans. The literacy lessons lean heavily on the"classics" for older grades, but it's worth checking out.
 Houghton Mifflin hosts a number of scored writing samples for grades P-5 on this site.
 Holt Renfrew makes several eidtable graphic organizers available at this site.
