- Due to the unique nature of the art program, it is more cost effective if the school purchased, in bulk, the paints, quality pencil crayons, easels, brushes, and other supplies not listed here. The purchase of these items can be covered for $10.00 which is to be paid directly to the school during registration in September.

Music

- Due to the unique nature of the music program, students can provide their own band instruments or have use of one from the school for $10.00. This amount covers access to instruments available within the school music program as well as reasonable repairs. This amount ($10.00) is to be paid directly to the school during registration in September.

- 1 pocket folder (with sleeves on each side)

The school provides a lock and locker for each student for a $5.00 rental fee. We consider these items to be the foundation for becoming organized. This amount is to be paid to the school in September. Students may also rent a locker shelf (also helpful for organization purposes) for $5.00. Locker shelves are distributed on the first day of school to the students who have their rental fee.

Additional Language resources

In the French immersion program, language resources are an integral part of helping your child succeed in class. The following items are required for the program, and the student should have them as close to the start of the year as possible, as they will be used within the first few days.

1. Grade 7, 8 and 9: French-English Dictionary

- This can be purchased at most book stores. There are several versions of a French-English dictionary on the market, and we recommend either the Robert-Collins Poche (blue in colour) French-English Dictionary, which can be purchased for around $10.00. The Larousse French-English (red in colour) is also a good choice, and is about the same price.

2. Grade 7, 8 and 9: Bescherelle Verb Conjugator

- This can also be purchased through most book stores. The requested Bescherelle is the green coloured “Nouvelle Edition” with the number 1 in the top right-hand corner. The shelf price for this item is around $22.00.

3. Grade 8 and 9: A quality French Dictionary

- During the grade 8 and 9 years, students are expected to rely less on translations of words and search for the meaning of a word in French. In order to perform this task and further develop language competency, a French dictionary is suggested for these grades. The “Micro Robert” is the best quality dictionary of its kind for this level. It has a shelf price of around $18.00 and can usually be ordered in through book stores if they do not have them in stock.

* Students in grade 8 and 9 should already have some of these language resources and another copy is not required. However, if a student does  not have one of the above items, it is imperative that they be purchased as early in the year as possible.*

See you in September!
