Ensuring a Rewarding and Successful
Science Fair Project
In this section of the Resource Site, we hope to provide teachers with information, materials (such as checklists and handouts), external links, and suggestions that will aid you as you begin to discuss science fair projects with your students.
A science fair project is a great way to cover many curriculum outcomes and to promote project-based learning in your classrooms. For a list of the outcomes covered by a science fair project, click on one of the below links (we hope to provide a more complete list for high school courses in the near future):
Science fair projects provide for an excellent opportunity to assess what your students have learned in a real world setting. Before you know it, the day will come when you will celebrate your student's achievements in your school-based science fair and it will also give the community the opportunity to see the wonderful learning that is going on in your school and classroom. It is a lot of work but the rewards are well worth it, and it will give students an educational experience they will remember long after they leave your classroom.
